Celebrating a New Generation of Leaders: Nabaka and the First Priority Youth Council

At First Priority, we believe that the most powerful messenger of the Gospel to a 15-year-old is another 15-year-old. Our mission is built around this truth, empowering teens to reach their peers with the love of Christ. Each First Priority club is led by a team of incredible young people we call the “Youth Council.” This group of twelve is divided into four key teams—the Pray Team, Bless Team, Serve Team, and Tell Team—each with a unique mission to make Jesus known.

Each year, a new set of leaders is chosen for these roles. In Uganda, the anticipation for these positions is overwhelming; students often wait years for the opportunity to step into leadership and guide their peers in faith. One of the most inspiring days on our calendar is when these dedicated young leaders are officially recognized by their predecessors in a special “passing of the torch” ceremony. It’s a moment of legacy, honor, and responsibility, as the previous year’s leaders entrust the next generation with the mission.

Today, we’re celebrating Nabaka, who has just been recognized as the Bless Team Co-Captain for the coming school term. Nabaka’s role will be one of tremendous impact as she leads her team in creating acts of kindness and outreach, embodying the hands and heart of Christ to her peers. This moment isn’t just a personal milestone for her; it’s a powerful step forward for the ministry of First Priority in Uganda.

Join us in celebrating Nabaka and all the other youth leaders stepping up this year. These teens are more than just leaders in their schools—they’re the next generation of changemakers God will use to transform communities and impact the world.

Let’s keep Nabaka and her peers in our prayers as they take on this vital work. They represent the hope and potential of a generation that’s on fire for Jesus, and we’re honored to support them every step of the way.
