Month 1
We encourage each other to tell others about Jesus.
“If you Hold to my Teaching,
you are really my disciples.
Then you will know the truth
and the truth will set you free.“
John 8:31-32
Where is the only place you can find what Jesus said?
In the Bible
TRUTH
Seeing things the way Jesus does.
Welcome
“Welcome to First Priority. What do we do at First Priority? We focus the entire year on one thing and one thing only. We talk about what Jesus said.”
“What’s the only thing we talk about?”
“That is simple enough. We care about what Jesus said. We take what Jesus said and…
“Where is the only place you can find what Jesus Said?”
“This week is DECLARE IT WEEK. This week is Declare It week. This week we talk about the Gospel, the good news of Jesus.”

HAVE A STUDENT PRAY THE PRAYER OF PREPARING
“But before we really get started, will someone please pray for us. Please start by asking the Lord to prepare our hearts and minds for this time together?”

REVIEW VERSE MOTIONS
Try having students come up and teach them to the group.
Review our Mark
“Jesus is the Truth. The way He sees the world is the way it truly is, because of who Jesus is. He is the Light of the World, the Son of God. Jesus is the Truth.
What is Truth?
“When we are marked by Jesus, our lives Share the Gospel”
“We live out the truth in love for a very important reason. That reason is because it shows people Jesus and it prepares their hearts and minds to hear about how much He loves them.”
HAVE A STUDENT DO THE GOSPEL STEP UP
Have the kid stand in front of the group and encourage them to speak loudly and clearly.

My name is ______________________
I am a follower of Jesus. I believe what Jesus Said.
Jesus said He loves me and created me to be like Him.
But I broke God’s heart.
We all chose to live our own way.
Jesus calls that sin.
So here is the Gospel, the Good News.
“Jesus said, I am the Way, the Truth and the Life.
No one comes to the Father except through Me.” John 14:6
SAY JESUS IS THE WAY (they repeat)
He died the death I deserve.
He paid the price for my sin.
To make me right with God.
SAY JESUS IS THE TRUTH (they repeat)
Jesus said that if you know Him, you know God.
Because I know Jesus, I know God.
SAY JESUS IS THE LIFE (they repeat)
Jesus gave me a new life, He put His spirit in me. Now I am a child of God.
Jesus said that whoever believes in Him will have eternal life in Heaven.
No one comes to the Father except through Jesus.
I believe in Jesus because He is the only one who can save me,
and I put my faith in Him.
Jesus said, “Who do you say that I am?”

Object Lesson Materials: Sunglasses
“WHO HERE LIKES TO WEAR SUNGLASSES?”
“What do sunglasses do? They block light from the sun so you can see clearly. But they also change how you see the world. Everything is a funny color sometimes yellow or brown or gray shade.”
“THIS IS SPECIAL PAIR OF SUNGLASSES CALLED JESUS GLASSES”
“When I put them on I can see the world through the eyes of Jesus. The Bible tells us something about the say Jesus sees the world.”
Have a student read John 1:9-12
You can read it after.
“The true light that gives light to everyone was coming into the world. He was in the world, and though the world was made through him, the world did not recognize him. He came to that which was his own, but his own did not receive him.”
– John 1:9-12
“THIS VERSE SAYS THE WHOLE WORLD BELONGS TO JESUS, AND EVERYTHING WAS MADE THROUGH HIM AND FOR HIM.”
We have been talking about truth this month; seeing things the way they truly are, seeing things correctly, seeing thing the way Jesus does.
“JESUS WALKED AROUND AND SAW THINGS THE WAY THEY TRULY WERE.”
He saw a storm. Everyone was scared, He knew wind would obey Him. People saw the waves, but Jesus knew He could walk on the water. Jesus could see people, but He did not just see what they looked like on the outside. He could see what they were thinking, He could see what they were like on the inside. Would you like to see the world the way Jesus does?
“WHEN JESUS LOOKS AT US, WHAT DOES HE SEE?”
“What do think Jesus sees when he sees you?” Does He see your clothes? Yes. Does He see your eyes and skin? Yes. Does He see into your heart and mind? Yes. Can Jesus see your mistakes and sins? Yes!!!”
“JESUS CAN SEE INSIDE OUR HEARTS AND MINDS.”
“So if Jesus can see our hearts and minds. Does that scare you? What does He think when he looks at you?”
Look around the room at kids. Look them up and down with a “knowing” our judging look on your face.
“JESUS SEES US AS WE TRULY ARE. HE LOOKS AT US AND THINKS… I LOVE YOU!”
“Even though Jesus sees our sins and mistakes, does He hate us and reject us? Does He see our sin and darkness and say, “I don’t want anything to do with them.” No! In His eyes He loves us. He loved us so much He was willing to die to pay the price for our sins. And here is more good news. When we believe in Jesus, we will know the truth.
JESUS IS THE TRUTH AND WHEN WE PUT OUR FAITH IN HIM WE KNOW HIM AND WE KNOW THE TRUTH THAT SETS US FREE.”
“Knowing Jesus and putting your faith sets you free. Free from sin and death. He will set us free and give us the gift of eternal life.”
“

HAVE A STUDENT PRAY THE PRAYER OF BLESSING
“Will someone please come and pray a prayer for us? Start by asking the Lord to be with us as we go begin to put His teaching into practice.”
